The Most Random List of Favorites You’ll Ever See (In Order of my Imagination)

July 17, 2008

Post-publication correction: I know how concerned all my loyal readers are about my favorites list’s accuracy, and so I must add two beloved hoodies to my list — my San Fransisco hoodie which I bought in the highly unlikely location of San Francisco, and a hoodie from my brother’s engineering firm which he stole for me as a graduation present (which I have only had the opportunity of wearing at cold restaurants so far this year).

  • Drink: Diet Coke. And if I’m feeling really crazy, I add some cherry in it.
  • Appetizer: Chips and queso, preferably from Chili’s.
  • Blog software: WordPress, hands down. I’ve spent long dirty nights experimenting with most other blog software because I’m a slut like that, but WordPress is by far my favorite. Least favorite? Blogger, without a doubt. I hate pretty much everything about Blogger, but people who are less of a blog control freak probably don’t mind it. However, if you’d like to convert, let me know and Justin I can help you out.
  • Web browser: Firefox. I’ve whored myself around almost every other web browser as well, but they all have given me way more metaphorical STDs than Firefox has, and so I am monogamous with Firefox now. Get it. You’ll never go back to Internet Explorer again.
  • Mascara: Clinique’s High Definition Brush Then Comb Mascara
  • Book: East of Eden by John Steinbeck, although I recommend the one without Oprah’s name in big flashing lights on the cover. The story is better that way.
  • City attraction: Aquariums. I love going to aquariums. Zoos can be fun too, but it’s more hit and miss depending on if you can actually see the animals or not… and if you are fortunate enough to see snakes pooing and gorillas eating their own puke or not.
  • Cheese: Mild Chedder to eat plain, Chedder or Pepper Jack on sandwiches, Gorgonzola or Blue Cheese or Feta on salads, Parmesan and Mozzarella on Italian food.
  • ’80s movie: Sixteen Candles (TRIVIA! Did you know the guy who plays Molly Ringwald’s little brother is also the kid who starred in Kramer Vs. Kramer as Billy? Crazy!)
  • Breakfast: Cold pizza, especially my homemade stuff.
  • Time waster: Blogging.
  • Moment of the day: When my brother who’s a police officer called to inform me that a kid in his civil court case today trying to argue his way out of a ticket used the sentence, “Do you recollize the events of that day?” in an effort to use the understandably difficult word, recollect. Not once, but twice.
  • Solution to depression: Ice cream or going out to eat. Those also happen to be my solutions to happiness, excitement, sadness, boredom, and this other mood I like to call being alive.
  • Family member: Whoever happens to be reading this blog right now. I know, you always knew you were my favorite, didn’t you, you saucy minx?
  • UK Blogger: JackP, baby! You made the list!
  • Emergency meal: Pasta with lots of salt and garlic salt.
  • Favorite restaurant: I have to say Chili’s because I have many, many years of wonderful memories there from four different states. However, I am currently having a Love and War in Texas love affair. Next time I go, though, I need to remember to get in character beforehand with some snakeskin boots, 8 inch belt buckle, and a smokin’ cowboy hat. And if my hair were long enough, I’d probably add some pigtails into the mix. Who’s with me?
  • Hoodie: My WordPress one preferably when I am not in public but need something lightweight, my McKinney Soccer one almost all the time because of its coziness and history, my red Ohio State one when I want some color, my gray Ohio State one when I need something thicker, my BYU-I one when I need something to match my eyes, Justin’s NOFX hoodie when I need something baggy, my Fat Wreck Chords hoodie (not pictured) when I need something punky.
  • Bottled water: Dasani and Propel.
  • Chore: Laundry, up until the part I have to put it away.

Well, so far I have pretty much made today a complete waste, so I better get moving with some exercising, reading, working, and laundry folding.

WOW! I’M ON THERE TWICE! I AM YOUR FAVORITE RELATIVE AND GOT TO CONTRUBUTE A GREAT STORY ABOUT THE BUTCHERING OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. THERE ARE NOT MANY THINGS BETTER THAN A COMPLETE IDIOT TRYING TO DEFEND HIMSELF IN CITY COURT AND DISPLAYING HIS STUPIDITY FOR EVERYONE TO SEE.

…right, just for the sheer randomness of it, I’m meming* this.

*not entirely sure you can ‘verb’ the word meme like that, but what the heck, will give it a go.

…aw, shucks – just read down to the blogger bit :-)

Well, I’m lovely. What else can I say?

Yay, I’m your favorite relative. Though I am sad that your San Francisco hoodie didn’t make it on the list of favorites…I thought the memories of sleeping on my non-carpeted floor hiding from my landlady would have obviously put this one on the top of your list. Amazing that you like laundry and dasani, laundry is a sucky chore (of course for me I have to walk a few hundred feet with my lalundry) and dasani is basically just tap water in a pretty bottle.

I don’t care what Dasani is — what I know is, it tastes better than all the other bottled waters out there. If it’s tap water, it came from a damn good tap, that’s all I know. I’ll take doing laundry over doing dishes any day. I absolutely hate doing dishes. Maybe next I’ll do a random least favorites list. And I meant to add the San Fran hoodie, I can’t believe I forgot to add it. I even had a link for it ready.
