I think I’ve officially become one of the world’s most boring human beings, which explains the whopping three day gap on this here little blog of mine. I think about this pregnancy and this baby a lot, a lot more than I ever thought I would. I wake up all night with thoughts and concerns and dreams of babies, wondering and waiting for the first time I feel it move. I can’t help it. I’m obsessed.
Besides that, it’s been an exciting week of laundry and dishes and other fun stuff like that, reading about a hermaphrodite and a brother and sister who get married and reproduce (fictional, and a Pulitzer Prize winner, a very well written book actually called Middlesex), prepping for a fun night of baseball with my sister tomorrow night, and painting my nails in purple glittery polish because I’m mature like that.
I promise you’ll get a decent post with pictures tomorrow night though after my sister and I get back from the game. And one day I’ll write something worth reading. I promise hope.

Some obsessions are good. Obsessions with one’s developing baby seem healthy and normative to me. A novel called, “The Magnificent Obsession” is about a doctor who discovers the idea in the NT (and other places) that if we give in secret we are the ones truly blessed. He begins to apply that in his life and is richly rewarded. Your obsession with the baby is just God’s way of getting you ready to be “ever vigilant” in taking care of this baby. They are such a joy and such a responsibility, I think obsession is a good synonym for good parenting. Of course, you also have to be obsessed in many areas of your life to retain balance. Looking forward to the pictures. Going to the Roughriders?
Yep, taking her to a Roughriders game for her b-day. We used to go a lot together, so it’ll be fun.
I liked your comment, by the way. Very interesting.
Don’t worry in six months from now, you can turn your blog into a mommy blog. It is a sad realization when it happens, but yet oh so fun to be obsessed with such a cute human being.
