Remember when I was going on and on about how unbelievably nice and thoughtful people can be? Well the thoughtfulness of people has struck again! Today was the best mail day I can remember in a long time. It’s so fun to get fun stuff in the mail. It makes me feel like a little kid again, all giddy with excitement, especially when it’s a surprise. It’s the small things, people. This is why I’m generally a happy person. It doesn’t take much.
Today there was a mysterious package on my front doorstep. Curious, my sister and I opened it up and found the card game Bang! inside! I was sooo excited I could hardly contain myself. It took a while of digging through packaging to figure out who this random gift was from but I had an idea because there’s only one person who appreciates Bang! on the same level that I do: Justin’s brother, Sean.
Seriously, this game is so much fun. It’s an Italian Western game, if that makes sense, where you get ahead by “banging” (or shooting) people and drinking beer (by collecting Beer cards, that is). I could seriously play this game for hours and hours on end. It’s so much fun with a crowd and I was so excited when I opened this gift that I immediately started going through a mental list trying to think of people we could invite over right away to play with. I’m so excited to own this game finally! Thanks so much, Sean! That is awesome!
Then, after getting all excited about that, I went out to check my mailbox and lo and behold there was another present in there from Justin’s mom: a food storage cookbook. This is another area of domesticity I keep needing to learn about so I can really stock up on food storage and actually know how to use it for emergency preparedness.
Flipping through it, it looks like a really informative book, both for recipes but also for educating about food storage and I’m really excited to learn more about it so I can get comfortable enough to start stocking up around here. Thanks for the boost, Denise!
So today was pretty exciting. It’s always fun getting something in the mail besides junk and bills, especially when it means getting presents. I feel very spoiled today.

What a great day! Seriously it is so fun to get presents in the mail :) I’ve been wanting that book since she released it. She actually has a website if you’re interested: http://everydayfoodstorage.net
I just came across it a few months ago and really like it. If you ever do look at the website, you’ll have to let me know if there’s a lot more stuff in the book, if its any different, etc.
I’ve never heard of that game but it sounds like fun! Wish we lived closer!
Merry Christmas…I guess the shipping is just about 7 months late
I’m so confused…. are you kidding or serious? Also is it from Sean or both of you or all of you? So confused….
Yay BANG! We just played that a few days ago with Alissa’s sister and (now) brother-in-law. Our bullet is a little more worse for wear than your shiny new one by this point.
That is an awesome game!
I’ve always said that the only way to get ahead in life is by drinking beer and banging people.
Wait, what are we talking about?
(C’mon. It had to be done.)
