Joe’s

November 5, 2009

It’s been a while since I posted a photo of Justin & I doing what we do best: eating. So I figured I’d put some photos of us at Joe’s tonight. Plus, Justin’s on vacation & I just feel like I should be posting photos from his vacation, even though we really haven’t done a whole lot outside of the house.

Joe’s is a little local Italian place and is really delicious. I had never been before tonight, but I already love it. I like the feel of these smaller, more intimate independent restaurants, and when their food is exceptionally good they’re that much more appealing to me. I’m not anti-chain by any means, but I just enjoy the relaxed, quiet atmosphere of these types of local restaurants so much more.

Anyway, if you live around here, I’d recommend going to Joe’s sometime just to mix it up. Best Italian I’ve had in a long time. (On 31st by HEB.)

Haven’t done a lot outside of the house? You guys went to ROME! I see the Colliseum right there! (Seriously — super cute, both of you)

The boys practically kill for their meatballs. They’re awesome for take home too. Call ahead & pick up – you don’t have to eat public w/ your messy messy children that way . . . plus, they’re REALLY generous with the garlic bread.

Mmmm… the garlic bread. That’s the other thing about independent restaurants. They’re usually so generous. They don’t skimp on extras like bread at Italian places, chips & salsa at Mexican places, or fortune cookies at Chinese places. There’s also a donut place by my mom’s in Plano that gave me an entire bag full of donut holes when I had just ordered 1 donut. Felt like winning the lottery!
