For Turk & Betsy

I had just been thinking that someone was missing from this blog when my aunt Betsy left a comment pointing out the same thing, so I wanted to make sure my dog gets a little blog and photo love too. The toy he’s playing with in the photo above was a present from one of my friends who took care of Turk while I was having the baby and wanted to make sure he didn’t get left out. Needless to say, he loves it, even though (and perhaps because) he’s destroyed most of it.

He’s done really well with the adjustment, even more so as time goes on and he’s used to having this tiny human being flailing her arms and legs in every direction, even when he sneaks his nose in for a quick sniff. What’s hilarious though is that he used to jump and walk several feet away every time she would perform her impressively loud bowel movements.

Up until just this week, she hasn’t let me put her down much at all, so I constantly felt guilty that I didn’t get to interact as much with Turk unless someone else was around to hold her, and let’s face it, even then I was busy trying to get something accomplished in those brief periods, even just a nap. Now, though, she’s pretty good about entertaining herself while she’s awake, so it’s been nice to have some hands free this week, day and night.

I don’t leave the two of them alone together, but it’s nice that when I put her on the ground, Turk so far has given her some room and hasn’t gotten right in her face. Of course, with company coming today, that’ll fly right out the window since he forgets about personal space when people are over and thinks he can disobey all the rules around here. Poor pup, he just wants some attention!

It wasn’t intentional, but I like that these photos I’m dedicating to Betsy also have the blanket she made for my baby girl in them as well. Today while she was lying back enjoying the afternoon, she fell asleep in her favorite pose, hands over head.

Sorry Turk, had to sneak some baby photos in there too since they went along with the blanket theme.

Okay, so she’s willingly taking a bottle, she’s letting you put her down, she likes sleeping spread out on her back . . . You’re a super-mom & she’s a super-baby! Looks like she has one heck of a fur-brother too. Looks like Turk has the same approach Bella takes: you’re okay . . . but let’s not get too close to each other. Of course, there’s nothing quite like watching one of the boys SIT on Dylan.

Ah….sleeping without having to be held. A great step forward.

Okay, I just think she is the sweetest little thing ever. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have such a little baby and it just makes me so much more excited for my next one to come! Thanks for posting all of the pics, they’re great. Turk looks fantastic as well :)
